LFoundry S.r.l. is a leading foundry with advanced 200 mm manufacturing located in Avezzano (L’Aquila), in Abruzzo region, Italy. LFoundry currently employs about 1500 people. The Fab is equipped with a 11.000 m² wide clean room area.

LFoundry is focused on providing access to most advanced analogue manufacturing service with a capacity of >40,000 wafers/month, innovative technology extensions, including volume 90 nm and copper manufacturing, a strong emphasis on flexibility and customer partnership. It is supporting technology IP for 150 nm and 110 nm with a large portfolio of process-proven libraries, IP, design tools and reference flows.

LFoundry provides special capabilities and know-how for (i) CMOS Image Sensors by CIS optimized processes down to 90 nm and Back Side Illumination technology, (ii) Secure Microcontrollers, (iii) Smart Power, and (iv) CMOS integrated MEMS.

The role of LFoundry in SUPERTWIN is to fabricate a CMOS SPAD (SINGLE-photon avalanche diodes) array by using proprietary PDK (Process Design Kit) for the detection of the entangled photons generated by the SUPERTWIN photon sources.
